ABOUT PINK WARRIOR

The Pink Warrior Foundation, Inc. was created by Kim Ricker who, in March 2019, was diagnosed with two different types of breast cancer.  As a wife and a mother of two children, she didn’t know what she was going to be facing in the upcoming months and years.  She relied heavily on family and friends whether it was from the Meal Train that was set up by family or just people stopping by to check in on her and her family.

The intent of the foundation is to help those who are in the same situation that Kim was in herself.  If we can make your journey a little easier, that is what the goal of our foundation is.  We know that it is difficult to have cancer interrupt your life.  It is not easy to adjust to the new normal for as long as it may be.  We want you to know that you are not alone in your fight to kick cancer!!

The foundation wants to be able to provide families with Pink Warrior Kits. Every family will receive a gift bag filled with gift cards for gas, groceries, and everyday essentials.  The gift bags will also include various items for the recipient like a journal and pen set, Chapstick, socks, lotion, and other miscellaneous items.

Another goal that we have is to offer an annual scholarship of $500 to one senior high school student in Brown County that has had a parent with breast cancer.  It will be an essay format and will be awarded to a student from a Brown County high school.  It is our dream to be able to help as many local families as we can.

No family should have to go through this journey alone.
